Background
The 39th Meeting of the APECTEL Working Group (APECTEL 39) will be held in Singapore from 13-18 April 2009.
This meeting promises to be a fruitful one, with exchanges covering a wide range of issues, from mutual recognition agreements, broadband deployment, development of new technologies, trade rules, to the resiliency of our cyberspace.

Grid Showcase
As part of the grid initiatives under APEC, the second Grid Showcase will be held at APECTEL 39 this year. This will be the second Grid showcase APEC will be holding since the first held in Calgary, Alberta (Canada), at APECTEL 33 in April 2006. The Grid Showcase held this year will show the Grid progress achieved by the APEC economies three years later.
Objectives of the Grid Showcase are:
a) To provide a platform for economies to share and have exchanges on the latest Grid developments.
b) To demonstrate to TEL the possibility of Grids and the benefits it can bring domestically and to the APEC economies.
c) To encourage stronger and more cohesive Grid collaborations at APECTEL.
The Grid Showcase will be held together with APECTEL 39 Networking Night, on 16 April 2009 from 1800 – 2200 hrs at Suntec Convention Centre, Gallery East, Level 3. This session is exclusively opened to all delegates with the official APECTEL 39 badges.
Grid Showcase Preview
As part of the programme line-up for GridAsia 2009, there will be a site visit to the Grid Showcase Preview at APECTEL 39 on 16 Apr 2009 from 1500 - 1700 hrs. GridAsia 2009’s participants are welcome to register for this site visit at: http://forms.ngp.org.sg/ga09/register.php.
