GridAsia 2008 - Play a Pivotal Role!

Preparation for GridAsia 2008 has begun.  The fourth event in the GridAsia series is being jointly organized by Agency for Science, Technology And Research (A*STAR), Infocomm Development Authority (IDA), Singapore Grid Forum, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), National Grid Office (NGO), National University of Singapore (NUS), and Singapore Management University (SMU).

Once again, we expect a total turnout of more than 600 delegates to participate in the conference, symposia, workshops, tutorials, presentations and special session discussions, fostering active interchange of research ideas and experience. The programme and social events lined up will provide an invigorating brew of networking opportunities.

With the ardent support of industry in sponsorship, providing speakers and panelists as well as organizing co-located workshops, the previous three GridAsia events were resounding successes. GridAsia is already a major annual event for the region.

GridAsia is increasingly becoming an important platform to enable attendees and participants to share experiences, discuss their research findings, network and explore opportunities for collaboration.  Delegates are expected to come from local and overseas academia, research institutes and laboratories, both in the public and industry sectors (such as biomedical, digital media, physical sciences and manufacturing).

This year the committee is proud to announce that we will be hosting Open Grid Forum 24 meeting concurrently with GridAsia 2008.  Open Grid Forum, http://www.ogf.org/, is a major international open community rapidly driving the adoption of Grid Computing. This would be the first time that an OGF meeting is held in South-east Asia region. We are expecting the presence of over 250 leading Grid researchers and practitioner who have been setting the pace for Grid prevalence internationally.

As in previous years we will have a number of interest tracks. Some of the tracks are as follows:

  • Technical track
  • Enterprise Adoption Track
  • International collaboration track

As this is an excellent opportunity to reach out to influential players and users in the area of Grid Computing and its use, our enclosed patron proposal is tailored to provide you with exciting returns that will elevate your organisation presence and positioning in the industry.
