Abstract
Grid Computing has delivered significant efficiency benefits and cost savings for many organisations. While early adopters were in the research and education sectors, the past few years has seen adoption by a wider spectrum of organizations. Enterprises have started adopting many of the Grid principles with minimal investment, zero disruption and fast ROI. Moving from proprietary, inflexible systems to ones that are open and modular, organisations have the building blocks for continuous competitive advantage. By bringing practical and efficient solutions to meet the ever changing business requirement they're achieving a lower total cost of ownership (TCO) while at the same time providing a powerful technology infrastructure that addresses scalability, availability, security, and functionality needs of the business.
